I wrote this song about a month before hurricane Harvey hit. At the time there was no indication of a storm or flood on the horizon at all. I'm making it available for free through Soundcloud in the hopes it will encourage people to contribute to hurricane relief funds. There will be a link to my Soundcloud page at my website: www.timcoffeyart.com
lyrics
It’s the day of the flood
It’s at my front door
It’s out for blood
It’s looking like war
I climb to the ceiling
But it falls to the floor
The thing about floods
And all the rushing water coming in
They always want more
But I’m all good
I can’t complain
Everyone I love
They made it through the rain
Think of all the ones
Who got caught in the flood
Who got swept away
The one that I love
The one that I love
I’m looking above
The one that I love
Made it through the rain
Made it through the rain
The world blooms anew
Everything is green
I see more colors than I’d ever dreamed
And my neighbor
She offers hello
And I realize
I’d never heard her voice
Before the rushing water of the flood
But I’m all good
I start anew
And everyone I love
They all made it through
Think of all the ones
Who got caught in the flood
Who got swept away
The one that I love
The one that I love
The one that I love
The one that I love
Made it through the rain
Made it through the rain
Made it through the rain
Made it through the rain
